“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something behind.

Get To Know Us
Hi! I’m Rhonda, the creator of Wild Atlas Travels and dog mom (I hate that term but here I am typing it out…) to Atlas. His name was inspired by my love for geography, maps, and of course - travel. His name eventually inspired the name “Wild Atlas”.
I live in Colorado and spend much of my free time exploring this beautiful state; whether it’s hiking, backpacking, skiing, paddling - I’m outside as much as possible! The rest of my free time is spent traveling…or at least planning my next trip. I’m a fan of both international travel and US road-trips, especially throughout the West!
I genuinely think the best trips have a form of movement and nature included in them! For example: a hike to a waterfall, biking around city parks, climbing a via ferrata, or snorkeling with manta rays.
I decided to create Wild Atlas due to the lack of travel planners, agents, designers (whatever you want to term it) for the adventurous and curious. I want to be a resource for people that are interested in trying new things, okay with sacrificing some “luxury” for adventure, enjoy type 2 fun, and want to connect with locals.
I didn’t grow up with a family of travelers and my first vacation wasn’t until 11th grade, to the spring breakers hot spot: Panama City Beach…with my grandparents haha. After my first time oceanside, I was hooked on researching where to go next and browsing for cheap flights.
For much of my childhood I had a stepfather who was from Syria. When he came to live with us he didn’t speak a lick of English and practiced religion I wasn’t accustomed to. This catapulted me into a new world of experiences. I didn’t realize it at the time, but these experiences fueled my interest in other cultures. My goal is to encourage others be open to learning about traditions and customs that are unlike theirs, as well as to push you out of your comfort zone a little bit…or maybe a lot.
I have visited 22+ countries, 43 states, 22 national parks, and climbed 21 14,000+ feet peaks. My favorite countries have been Oman, Italy, and Indonesia!
